Currently: UX Designer @AbbVie, EDI @ Northwestern
I'm May, a Master's student in Northwestern's Engineering Design Innovation program passionate about using human-centered design to make a positive impact by designing inclusively and thoughtfully. I aspire to design equitable digital and service solutions that bring communities together and improve lives. My areas of interest include social impact, community-building, tech, and health.
• As a first-generation American with close ties to older family members, I developed compassion and insight for groups often overlooked in design.
• During my undergraduate studies in graphic design at UIUC, I worked with a variety of startups, including a community resource platform for expecting mothers in underserved areas and an app helping Parkinson's patients retain mobility through community.
• I'm currently continuing my learning in UI/UX, social impact, and tech to prepare for work in these areas as I pursue my Master's.
• In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my hamster, (Marquis), and taking care of my many plants. I'm also an avid fan of arts and crafts: where my love for being creative and problem-solving came from.
